The Exeter Philharmonic Choir, 37 singers, invite you to their ‘Pilgrims’ Chorus’ concerts as they walk the St James’ Way fromUpper Wield to St Cross, Winchester. The singers perform a varied repertoire under the direction of music director, Stephen Tanner who has a long and distinguished musical career as a choral conductor, organist and composer. As Stephen says, a pilgrimage is a journey and the programme is a musical journey through sacred and secular music across the last 500 years from Luis de Victoria to Holst and Parry, including contemporary African American Spirituals and folk music.
