St James' Way has been recognized as the most popular pilgrimage route in England for 2025 by the British Pilgrimage Trust. The St James' Way has drawn thousands of walkers from across the globe, the trail offers a unique journey through centuries-old paths and captivating scenery. In November 2025, the CSJ and Galician government unveiled Camino milestones along the route in Reading and Winchester, with a milestone unveiling planned for Southampton in 2026. 

The route, which spans  approximately 68.5 miles/110 kilometres from Reading to Southampton, has gained popularity due to its accessibility and the diverse experiences it offers pilgrims, from spiritual reflection to cultural exploration. Pilgrims are welcomed to engage with local communities, enjoy traditional English hospitality, and appreciate the serene beauty that defines St James' Way.

Coming in at number 9 for the top ten pilgrimages in England was the Finchale Camino. This walk from Finchale Priory to Durham Cathedral, Auckland Palace and the Anglo-Saxon church at Escomb is now officially recognised as part of the Camino Inglés – the English Way. The recognised route is circa 23 miles / 37 km from Finchale Priory to Escomb.
